Arctic MX-2 vs MX-4 Laptop Cooling. Long story short, I got same laptop with my friend, both of our laptop equipped with a I5 8300H. Now, since I got some old MX-2 left from eons ago, I decided to use MX-2 for CPU/GPU repaste, and my friend got new 2019 MX-4 instead, both of us put a pea size paste after cleaning up, nothing special …
The 2080ti is built for 4K 60+ FPS. And is ENTIRELY wasted on a 1080p monitor. A 10 series card is more than capable of running 1080p on a 120hz monitor. A 9 series struggles. Unless you’re jumping to 1440p 100hz, 120z or 144hz, or a 4K setup with a CPU, Mobo and RAM to match…the 3070 is.
I bought a CyberPower with Ryzen 3700 with a 3070 for the sole purpose of swapping the 3070 with my current 1070. Then added a 27 1440p 165Hz monitor to my 2 24 1080p 144Hz monitors.
9/25/2017 · To me, both 2 and 4 does the job perfectly fine. I do remember having to take something like 30 extra seconds to clean MX2 ( compared to MX4 , MX4 on 3570K, MX2 on 2300) and I think it did stain a little but the MX2 was considerably older so…
8/17/2014 · 0. 19,660. 170. Aug 16, 2014. #1. I am almost finished the Arctic Silver 5 i got last year and I would not get it again if I had a choice. I know it sits around the middle in cooling with any other good thermal compounds. The only thing about MX4 that i know for sure is it is non-conductive. This is what I need for mt Radeon HD 6870 that needs …
i also have a 9900k delidded with conductonaut at 5.1ghz 1.285v using graphene between IHS and corsair H150i and temps stay under 60c gaming, under 80c stress testing or render/exporting. 2 Share, 5/5/2015 · Also since I found that AS5 is conductive and might damage IC if it gets spilled so I am thinking about MX2 as MX4 for 800 bucks is a bit much for a 4g tube I think. I haven’t played a single game since last 3 months. So I am going to order a damn paste tomorrow and I cant wait much longer lol. – – – Updated – – -.
9/25/2020 · As to the OPs situation, with the same cooler and same environmental situation, the difference is a degree or two at best, I have tested this many times. Simply put, and as said by many, if the paste isn’t hard, oily, or in some obviously seen way gross, use it, its free. Paying for MX4 isn’t going to improve anything if what he has is still good.
5/9/2017 · Right now I’m looking at Arctic MX-4, they advertise 8 years without reapplication. Does anyone know the difference between MX4 and MX2 ? Or is there anything else I should be looking at that will stand the test of time? I’ve read people have found at least MX-2 to still be liquified after 6 years. That sounds great to me.
6/7/2016 · funny, i was wondering the same thing about my MX2 . a quick google indicates as long as its spreadable, its good. i think went to grab my unopened package of another tube of mx2 and indeed on the packaging itself, it says stable for 8+ years. notice it says 8 plus, so id venture and agree with the consensus that if its spreadable, its good to use.
